Jack Frost
13/05/2010Jack Frost has been out again last night. I hope the strawberry plants in our stunning garden at The Plough have survived the night! When they are ripe I have a perfect recipe for Crème Brulee which will be featuring on The Plough specials boards so look out for them.
Don't worry though, I will post the recipe on here for you to try at home as well.
So a quick round up of our food. Julie and her team at The Plough have been extremely busy over the last few weeks. Not only have they started a new menu with mouth watering dishes, they served up stone baked pizzas from a wood fired oven all over the bank holiday weekend during The Plough's annual Garden Festival. This year people had the opportunity to watch a battle of local bands, comedians and children's entertainers. There was really something for everyone, keep your eyes peeled for next year's date as it's an event not to be missed for more information join The Plough's group on facebook or send us an email.
So to The Punchbowl. Head chef Jason Armstrong formally of Heathcoat's flagship restaurant is due to launch his new menu this weekend, without giving to much away, Jason has created a menu full of modern greats and old classics, I know I have had a great time tasting the new menu and all I can say is, it's delicious and well worth a visit over the next couple of weeks.
Right I have told you enough already, I must go and check on those strawberries, I look forward to seeing you at some point soon.
